Senior Privacy Consultant

Meet Mara

At Mara Consulting, we help our clients – changemakers in their respective organizations — succeed, by delivering the best service and solutions in privacy and cybersecurity, business and technology strategy, and people-centred transformation. We help clients think through their most complex, pressing challenges to gain an understanding of the potential opportunities and then we chart the way forward, together. We lead with a creative mindset and a collaborative approach. Always.

To support our growth, we are searching for exceptional Privacy Consultants to join us. As part of a growing Privacy Practice that is respected across Canada, you’ll work with clients in the public, healthcare, and private sectors. You’ll collaborate with a seasoned team of professionals with backgrounds in law, policy, privacy, security, risk management and technology, and lived’ experience, who have your back and value your contributions.

What We’re Looking For

As a Mara Privacy Consultant, you’ll bring a broad set of skills, knowledge and experience in privacy and related areas like risk management, information governance and policy development. You will deliver risk assessments and develop and apply frameworks, programs, or policies that provide meaningful guidance to clients as they introduce new technologies and business solutions.

You’ll have exceptional writing skills and the ability to communicate and apply complex privacy concepts, laws and principles clearly, in a way that adds value to our clients. As a self-starter who is detail-oriented and flexible, you will take on various types of projects based on the priorities of the firm and our clients. In all the work that you do, you will be encouraged to think creatively and resourcefully. As a complement to our existing team members, we are looking for that special person who is energetic and fun-loving, but serious about the work.

We’d like to hear from you if you bring:

  • At least 5 years of experience in a similar role applying privacy skills and knowledge to successfully complete client deliverables such as privacy impact assessments, privacy programs, and information management policies
  • An undergraduate degree in a related discipline

  • Excellent analytical and writing skills
  • An ability to communicate complex information effectively to a wide variety of audiences
  • Demonstrated ability to balance multiple priorities and deal with ambiguity
  • Strong consultative skills, including facilitation and problem solving
  • Exemplary client service skills and ability to collaborate at all organizational levels

Assets:

  • A master’s degree in public administration or related field and/or a Law Degree
