To support our growth, we are searching for an exceptional Senior Security Consultant to join us. As part of a growing and well respected team, you’ll work with clients in the public, healthcare, and private sectors. You’ll collaborate with a seasoned team of professionals with backgrounds in project management, change management, service design, risk management and technology, and ​‘lived’ experience, who have your back and value your contributions. 

What We’re Looking For

As a Mara Senior Security Consultant, you’ll bring a broad set of skills, knowledge and experience in IT security management and planning and related areas like leadership, risk assessments, and supporting privacy assessments. You will deliver security architectures and designs, risk assessments, risk mitigation plans, and cloud computing security reviews and audits that provide meaningful guidance to our clients helping them to plan and prepare for the existing and growing security risks they face. 

You’ll have exceptional writing skills and the ability to communicate and apply appropriate IT security frameworks, standards and concepts clearly, in a way that our clients will be able to understand and internalize. As a self-starter who is detail-oriented and flexible, you will take on various types of projects based on the priorities of our clients. In all the work that you do, you will be encouraged to think creatively and resourcefully. As a complement to our existing team members, we are looking for that special person who is energetic and fun-loving, but serious and passionate about the work they do.

We’d like to hear from you if you bring:

  • A bachelor’s degree in computer science, Security, Engineering or a related discipline. 
  • More than 7 years of relevant experience in Cybersecurity and/​or related IT roles. 
  • Excellence in communicating technical and security concepts to non-technical audiences. 
  • Experience leading security risk assessments including Threat and Risk Assessments (TRAs), Vulnerability Assessments, Penetration Tests, or PCI compliance assessments. 
  • Experience preparing and/​or assessing technical and security solution architecture and designs. 
  • A sound understanding, and experience in applying international security and technology standards, frameworks, and best practices.
  • Demonstrated ability to balance multiple priorities and deal with ambiguity. 
  • Strong verbal, written and visual communication skills that you can tailor to the needs of the audience. 
  • Strong consultative skills, including facilitation, issue identification and resolution, and problem solving. 
  • Exemplary client service skills and ability to collaborate with people at all organizational levels. 

Assets:

  • Experience with assessing cloud deployment security models
  • Experience in the field of identity and access management
  • Security and/​or cloud related certifications
