Sara Miller (She/Her), CIPP/C

Senior Privacy Consultant

Sara has been working in the fields of information privacy and access to information since 2010. As the Chief Privacy Officer for the New Brunswick Department of Health from 2010 – 2018, she led the development of the privacy program from the ground up, including direct involvement with privacy assessments and policy development related to many ground-breaking e‑health initiatives. 

With close to 25 years of experience in the public sector, Sara has held senior roles spanning multiple departments and portfolios, including Director of Access to Information with Finance and Treasury Board and senior policy and legislative advisory roles within Post-Secondary Education Training and Labour. She brings experience and expertise in privacy program development and implementation, legislative analysis, access to information, conducting privacy impact assessments (PIA), collaborating with teams and stakeholders, and policy development. 

Bilingual in French and English, Sara holds a CIPP/C designation from the International Association of Privacy Professionals and a Certificate in Information Access and Protection of Privacy from University of Alberta. 

Sara’s greatest pride is her son. At home, she loves spending time in nature gardening, cycling, or watching the clouds roll by, as well as sketching and watercolour painting. She is passionate about the environment and social justice and looks for creative ways to reduce her footprint and share her privileges with others in her community.
