Senior Principal and Advisor

Kim is a Senior Principal of Mara Consulting and a Certified Information Privacy Professional and Chartered Professional Accountant with 30 years’ experience in privacy and access, enterprise risk management, privacy program and policy development, and corporate planning – and tackling tough challenges head on.

Before joining Mara in 2015, Kim founded and led a successful privacy consulting business. Prior to beginning her consulting career, she was the Chief Privacy Officer and Director of Enterprise Risk & Information Management for the Atlantic Lottery Corporation and she held leadership roles within Nova Scotia Power and Deloitte.

Kim is known for her strong work ethic and the dedication and energy she brings to her profession, her team, and her clients. She is respected for the structured and risk-based approach she applies to complex information privacy challenges faced by customers navigating change, working with them to build customized solutions. To this end, she has led organization and government-wide privacy impact assessments and developed privacy management programs within digital health; education; municipal, provincial and federal governments and in the private sector for organizations across Canada.

Kim is active in her community of Riverview, where she has served on several committees and is a member of the Board of the Albert County Foodbank. When she is not at work, Kim enjoys spending quality time with her family at home or at her camper, traveling, and experiencing New Brunswick’s amazing beaches and hiking trails.
