Tony Yip (He/Him), JD, BA

Mara is excited to share that we have welcomed Tony Yip to the team as a Senior Privacy and AI Governance Consultant. Tony will work with his Mara teammates and our clients within the public and private sectors across Canada to provide strategic advice and solutions in the privacy and AI governance domains.

Tony is a lawyer and privacy professional with nearly 3 decades of experience in delivering practical and pragmatic privacy support to clients. He excels at helping clients navigate complex regulatory frameworks, including around emerging AI technologies, by translating dense legal and compliance language into clear, actionable guidance. His most recent experiences include focusing on turning evolving AI requirements into practical solutions that enable innovation while maintaining compliance and ethical integrity.

Tony holds a law degree (JD) from the University of North Dakota and a Bachelor of Arts from University of Calgary.

Tony loves getting outdoors for hikes, building things out of pallets and is always on the hunt for the next great dad joke.
