The Mara team is currently located in Nova Scotia, New Brunswick, Newfoundland and Labrador, and Ontario. We primarily service public sector clients and we have significant experience in the healthcare space. 

To support our growth, we are searching for an exceptional Change and Innovation Consultant to join us. As part of a growing and well-respected team, you’ll work with clients in the public, healthcare, and private sectors. You’ll collaborate with a seasoned team of professionals with backgrounds in project management, change management, service design, risk management and technology, and lived’ experience, who have your back and value your contributions. 

What We’re Looking For

As a Mara Change & Innovation Consultant, you’ll bring a dynamic blend of change leadership, service design, and innovation strategy to help clients reimagine how they deliver value. You’ll lead the development of change plans, communication and training strategies, risk assessments, and reporting mechanisms that support the successful adoption of new technologies, services, and business models.

You’ll apply service design thinking to uncover user needs, map end-to-end experiences, and co-create solutions that are intuitive, inclusive, and impactful. Your ability to translate insights into actionable strategies will help clients not only manage change, but design for it.

You’ll have exceptional communication and presentation skills and the ability to apply both change management and service design methodologies in a way that resonates with diverse stakeholders. As a self-starter who is detail-oriented and adaptable, you’ll take on a variety of projects aligned with the priorities of our clients and our firm. In all the work you do, you’ll be encouraged to think creatively, act collaboratively, and lead with empathy. We’re looking for someone who is curious, energetic, and serious about making meaningful change — while having fun along the way.

We recognize the value of diverse backgrounds and experiences and encourage applicants to consider how they might align with these desirable characteristics:
 

  • A bachelor’s degree in business administration, Human Resources, Psychology, Computer Science or related discipline.
  • More than 7 years of relevant experience in a Change Management role.
  • Professional certification (e.g., Prosci) in change management
  • Exemplary client service skills and ability to collaborate with people at all organizational levels.
  • Experience leading project teams through activities tailored to help stakeholders understand, adjust to, and adopt new practices, processes or tools.
  • Demonstrated ability to balance multiple priorities and deal with ambiguity.
  • Strong verbal, written and visual communication skills that you can to tailor to the needs of the audience. 
  • Strong consultative skills, including facilitation, issue identification and resolution, and problem solving. 
  • Proven experience authoring and delivering professional change plans including; sponsorship, people management, communications, training and resistance management plans.
  • Experience mentoring and coaching at all levels within an organization.
  • Experience applying service design methodologies such as journey mapping, stakeholder co-creation, and prototyping.
  • Familiarity with tools and techniques used in service design (e.g., personas, service blueprints, user research).
  • Ability to integrate service design thinking into change management strategies to enhance user adoption and experience.

Assets:

  • Experience working in a professional services consulting firm

  • Experience in the public and/​or healthcare sectors 

  • Knowledge of Human-Centered Design (HCD) for product development

  • Experience facilitating workshops or design sprints to uncover user needs and co-create solutions.

  • Experience supporting or leading Artificial Intelligence adoption and integration, particularly within the public sector.
