Senior Business Analyst (Nova Scotia or New Brunswick based)

Meet Mara

At Mara Consulting, we help our clients – changemakers in their respective organizations — succeed, by delivering the best service and solutions in privacy and cybersecurity, business and technology strategy, and people-centred transformation. We help clients think through their most complex, pressing challenges to gain an understanding of the potential opportunities and then we chart the way forward, together. We lead with a creative mindset and a collaborative approach. Always.

To support our growth, we are searching for an exceptional Senior Business Analyst to join us. As part of a growing and well respected team, you’ll work with clients in the public, healthcare, and private sectors. You’ll collaborate with a seasoned team of professionals with backgrounds in project management, change management, service design, risk management and technology, and lived’ experience, who have your back and value your contributions.

What We’re Looking For

As a Senior Business Analyst, you’ll bring a broad set of skills, knowledge and experience in business analysis. You’ll work with other Mara team members to lead and support our clients and partners in a wide range of challenging and exciting digital health, government transformation and business transformation initiatives as they introduce new technologies and business solutions.

You’ll have exceptional writing skills and the ability to communicate and apply appropriate business analysis techniques clearly, in a way that adds value to our clients. As a self-starter who is detail-oriented and flexible, you will take on various types of projects based on the priorities of the firm and our clients. In all the work that you do, you will be encouraged to think creatively and resourcefully. As a complement to our existing team members, we are looking for that special person who is energetic and fun-loving, but serious about the work.

We’d like to hear from you if you bring:

  • A bachelor’s degree or equivalent formal education in Business Administration, Public Administration, Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology or Service Design.
  • A minimum of 7 years relevant experience as a Business Analyst for complex business transformation initiatives in a multi-stakeholder organizational environment.
  • Demonstrated experience working with technical and business subject matter experts; eliciting requirements, issue identification and resolution, process definition activities, and problem solving.
  • Experience in delivering solutions and services following agile methodologies and delivering data-centric solutions and services.
  • Proven ability in communicating technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
  • An understanding of human-centred design and digital service delivery.
  • An understanding of security and privacy and their roles in shaping solutions and services.
  • Demonstrated ability to balance multiple priorities and deal with ambiguity.
  • Strong verbal, written and visual communication skills tailored to audience needs.

Assets:

  • Experience in the public and/or healthcare sectors.
  • Professional certification (e.g. CAP, IIBA) in business analysis.
  • Experience delivering cloud-based solutions and services.

What We Offer

  • A competitive salary and benefits package, company profit sharing and variable incentive program, ample paid vacation, paid professional development, work from home allowance, company events, and other perks.
  • A premier boutique firm, Mara offers flexibility and autonomy to do your best work, without that corporate culture feel. Our team works remotely and collaborates virtually, and we get together in person often.
  • An opportunity to be part of a highly respected, high-performing team, working with a diverse group of industry experts and thought leaders, providing invaluable mentorship and professional growth opportunities. We encourage continuous learning and professional development, ensuring that our employees remain at the forefront of industry trends and best practices.
  • The ability to be part of, and contribute to a sought-after culture, based on the shared values of creativity, leadership, teamwork, community, respect, and lifelong learning.
