To support our growth, we are searching for an exceptional Senior Data and AI Consultant to join us. As part of our growing consulting practice, you’ll be at the forefront of helping organizations to deliver Data and AI strategies and solutions. You’ll collaborate with a seasoned team of professionals with backgrounds in technology, business, law, policy, privacy, security and risk management, and lived’ experience, who have your back and value your contributions. Whether designing ethical AI systems, delivering cloud-based data platforms, or proposing new policy, regulations and governance programs for future-ready organizations, our team delivers clarity where others see complexity.

What We’re Looking For

As a Mara Senior Data and AI Consultant, you’ll work at the intersection of AI, advanced analytics, solution implementation, and client delivery. This hands-on role involves architecting, designing and delivery of AI and Data driven systems that solve real-world business problems. You’ll play a critical role in technical discovery, solution architecture, and project oversight, collaborating with cross-functional teams including client stakeholders, internal data scientists, engineers, and delivery managers. This position demands an understanding of data engineering, AI/ML systems, solution/​technology architecture, and emerging AI technologies like generative models and MLOps.

We recognize the value of diverse backgrounds and experiences and encourage applicants to consider how they might align with these desirable characteristics:
 

  • A bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, mathematics, statistics, data engineering, AI/ML, or related field.

  • 7+ years in progressively senior technical roles with a focus on Data Engineering and Architecture, AI Development and Delivery, Cloud Delivery and Service Design and Delivery. 

  • Experience deploying and managing cloud implementations, including Azure, AWS and Google Cloud, with a preference given to those candidates with Azure Cloud experience. 

  • Experience gathering requirements, developing, testing and deploying enterprise-ready, end-to-end data platforms, with preference given to candidates with Microsoft Fabric experience.

  • Experience working with AI frameworks (e.g. TensorFlow, PyTorch and Scikit-Learn) and MLOps tools (e.g. MLflow, Kubeflow, SageMaker, Vertex AI). 

  • Experience in communicating technical and security concepts to non-technical audiences. 

  • Experience preparing IT strategies and roadmaps for large organizations. 

  • A strong foundation of application, platform and infrastructure architecture and security best-practices. 

  • Demonstrated ability to balance multiple priorities and deal with ambiguity. 

  • Strong verbal, written and visual communication skills that you can to tailor to the needs of the audience. 

  • Strong consultative skills, including facilitation, issue identification and resolution, and problem solving. 

  • Exemplary client service skills and ability to collaborate with people at all organizational levels. 

Valuable Assets:

  • Experience in the public and/​or healthcare sectors

  • Microsoft Azure and/​or Amazon Web Services (AWS) certifications

  • Familiarity with responsible AI, machine learning risk, or algorithmic impact assessments and frameworks (e.g., NIST AI RMF, ISO/IEC 42001)

  • Experience in innovation consulting, product strategy, or change management in the public sector
