What We’re Looking For

As a Mara Senior Technical Cloud Architect, you’ll will:

  • Lead the design of secure, scalable, and innovative cloud solutions that meet evolving business needs.

  • Collaborate with clients to shape IT strategies, roadmaps, and architectures across applications, platforms, and infrastructure.

  • Bring consulting skills to workshops, presentations, and problem-solving sessions.

This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a client-facing environment, enjoys variety, and wants to combine deep cloud expertise with consulting impact. As a complement to our existing team members, we are looking for that special person who is energetic and fun-loving, but passionate and serious about the work.

We recognize the value of diverse backgrounds and experiences and encourage applicants to consider how they might align with these desirable characteristics:

  • A bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering or related field, or a combination of a two-year technical diploma and relevant experience.

  • A minimum of 7 years as a senior technical architect, with at least 3 years of significant experience in cloud architecture and engineering

  • Proven experience preparing IT strategies, roadmaps, and cloud-focused solution designs for large organizations.

  • Strong foundation across application, platform, infrastructure, and security architecture.

  • Expertise in Microsoft Azure services (compute, storage, networking, data, and security).

  • Skilled in designing and implementing scalable, reliable, and secure cloud solutions.

  • Knowledge of Azure governance and management tools (Azure Policy, Azure Monitor, Defender for Cloud, Sentinel).

  • Strong consulting and facilitation skills — able to translate technical concepts for non-technical audiences.

  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and navigate ambiguity.

  • Excellent verbal, written, and visual communication skills.

  • Exemplary client service skills and ability to collaborate with people at all organizational levels.

Valuable Assets:

  • Experience in healthcare environments.

  • Experience with health IT integration projects and related standards (e.g. FHIRHL7).

  • Experience with Azure data services (Fabric, Databricks, Data Factory, Synapse).

  • Knowledge of modern data engineering and analytics approaches.

  • Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, Bicep) and CI/CD (Azure DevOps).

  • Microsoft Azure and/or AWS certifications.

  • Security certifications and/or experience leading security architecture initiatives.

What We Offer

  • A competitive salary and benefits package, company profit sharing and variable incentive program, ample paid vacation, paid professional development, work from home allowance, company events, and other perks.

  • A premier boutique firm, Mara offers flexibility and autonomy to do your best work, without that corporate culture feel. Our team works remotely and collaborates virtually, and we get together in person often.

  • An opportunity to be part of a highly respected, high-performing team, working with a diverse group of industry experts and thought leaders, providing invaluable mentorship and professional growth opportunities.
